VitaPortal
VitaPortal is an online healthcare media publisher that provides consumers and physicians with a wide range of medical information. It is the first site in Russia to offer content based on a rigorous medical review process conducted by certified physicians. In June, 2012 VitaPortal was ranked by international investors as one of the 25 hottest Russian startups.
VitaPortal is Russia’s first and only medical site to guarantee exhaustive and reliable information. All material published on the site has been verified by a dedicated team of doctors and experts who work with VitaPortal on an ongoing basis.
The site provides everything from reference information to popular articles, slide shows to video lessons. Users can read interviews with key figures in the Russian medical community, monitor recent developments and even solicit individual advice from experts in the field.
VitaPortal was launched in June, 2011. Just a few months later, its user base had already climbed to five million and counting; every month since, that number has increased by 20%-30%. Leading Russian analytical agency Liveinternet.ru called VitaPortal the most readable Russian-speaking medical site on the internet, and the International Certificate HONcode (Health of Net Code) affirmed that the medical information published on the site meets all quality and professional standards. In 2011, VitaPortal received the most important award of the internet community – the RuNet Award in the Health and Leisure Time Activities category.
Azamat Ulbashev, cofounder of VitaPortal, has more than a decade of experience as an entrepreneur, business developer and project manager, with particular expertise in the field of medicine. His many accomplishments include the development and launch of MedPublika.ru, an online professional community of Russian-speaking doctors, and the creation of the medical social network MedRx.ru.
“It is very important for us to know that what we do is aimed at improving the health of our population,” says Ulbashev.
