Russian Internet Deal Book 2012-2013
- The Russia tech investment market is maturing: deals in later stages (C, D, E) accounted for 45% of total investment volume in 2013, while in 2011 there were only 13% of these more “mature” deals.
- There has been more investment in financial and advertising services, as well as games. At the same time, e-commerce is becoming less popular as an investment.
- The share of Russian money in RuNet increased. Some 53% of all investments in the RuNet were of Russian origin in 2013, compared to 42% in 2012.
Russian Internet Deal Book 2010-2011
- Investors are interested in internet startups at the seed stage. The total value of seed investment amounted to $8.7 million in 2010 and $14.1 million in 2011.
- An unprecedented growth of grant funding was observed. 61 startups have received more than $20 million in grants (before 2010 this figure had tended towards zero).
- Where the seed stage has seen this significant increase in investments, funding in the subsequent rounds and business exits did not follow this high investment trend.
